Renee, injured in the attack, died on October 18 of her injuries. She leaves behind her life partner, Enez Cooper, and her 18-year-old son, Eddie, who lived with them.

Graham Berkeley 
age: 37,

Graham was director of e-commerce solutions, but his friends remember him as a classical violinist, an opera buff and a world traveller. He is survived by his boyfriend, Tim Fristoe.

Mark Bingham 
age: 31
city: San Francisco
Mark, a public relations professional and rugby player, helped to thwart the hijackers on United Fight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania. He was named Person of the Year in 2001 by The Advocate magazine.

Pamela J. Boyce
age: 43

Pamela had been an assistant vice president of accounting, but was also a competitive disco dancer and Lamaze coach for her sister Desiree when her niece Kristina was born. Pamela lived with her partner of six years, Catherine Anello.

David Charlebois

David was the co-pilot of American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon. He is survived by Tom Hay, his partner of 14 years. 

Eugene Clark
age: 47

In life, Eugene observed the three D's: dance, drama and divas, said Larry Courtney, Eugene's partner for the last 13 years. He was an avid gardener, loved to sing, cooked Southern-styled fried cabbage, and collected Waterford crystal.

Jeffrey Dwayne Collman
age: 41
city: Novato, CA
Jeffrey was a flight attendant for American Airlines, though his on-the-ground passion was tennis. An inspired dessert chef, he was planning to bake his own birthday cake for his upcoming 42nd birthday on September 28.

Luke A. Dudek
age: 50
city: Livingston, NJ
Luke and his partner of 20 years, George Cuellar, opened the doors on their new floral design store on September 11, but Luke wasn't there to see it - he was at his job as the food and beverage controller at Windows on the World. 

James Joe Ferguson
age: 39,
city: Washington, DC
Joe was director of geography education outreach for the National Geographic Society. He lived in Washington, D.C. with Winston, his wire-haired fox terrier.

Carol Flyzik
age: 40
city: Plaistow, NH
Carol was a registered nurse and marketing professional. She is survived by Nancy Walsh, her partner of 13 years, and stepdaughter, Kristin Walsh.

Sheila Hein
age: 51
city: Hyattsville, MD
Sheila was working for the U.S. Armys management and budget office in the Pentagon; and she is among the first recipients of the Defense of Freedom medal, the civilian equivalent to the military's Purple Heart. Shelia was with her partner, Peggy Neff, for 18 years.

Father Mychal Judge
age: 68

New York Fire Department Catholic chaplain Father Mychal Judge, 68, was killed while ministering to a fallen fire-fighter at Ground Zero. Judge's helmet was presented to the Pope, and there is an initiative to elevate Fr. Mychal to sainthood.

William Anthony Tony Karnes

Tony made his living as a software trainer, but his life's passion was touting the virtues of his adopted hometown, New York. Originally from Conyton, Tennessee, Tony is survived by John Winter, his partner of three years. 

John Jack Keohane
age: 41

After the planes hit the towers, John met Mike Lyons, his partner of 17 years, on the street as the second tower was collapsing. John became separated from Mike and was killed by falling debris.

Michael Lepore
age: 39

Michael and David OLeary, his partner of 18 years, shared a house and garden in Yonkers. "We used to say nothing bad could ever happen here," David said. "And it's still the most important thing. It's where I see most of Michael."

Patricia McAneney
age: 50

Patricia was the fire marshal of her floor of 1 World Trade Centre. She shared a home with her partner, Margaret Cruz, for nearly 20 years.

Wesley Mercer
age: 70
city: New York, NY
Wesley, a vice president of corporate security, made sure that the 3,700 employees of Morgan Stanley were safely out of the World Trade Centre. He then returned to make sure no one was left behind. His partner of 26 years, Bill Randolph, and daughter, Linda, survive him.

Philip Paul 'Roxy Eddie' Ognibene
age: 39

He was Uncle Woody to his nieces and nephews, but was Roxy Eddie to his fellow members of the Renegades of New York Big Apple Softball League. 

Seamus Oneal
age: 52
city: New York, NY
Seamus was an actor and singer; he composed liturgical choral works, and once ran a bed & breakfast. He is survived by his partner, Tom Miller.

Catherine Smith
age: 44
city: New York, NY
Catherine and her companion of six years, Elba Cedeno, fancied themselves Pepe Le Pew and Penelope from the Looney Tunes cartoon. Catherine had a sense of humour that turned crankiness to laughter. She drove a canary yellow Volkswagen, rooted for the Yankees, and was hoping to make baseball card trading a full-time hobby. 

Wymyns-Web celebrates the lives and memories of our gay sisters and brothers who were victims of the terrorist attacks of 11th September 2001.
We also salute the brave wymyn and men of the various police, fire and rescue teams who worked so tirelessly and courageously in the unthinkable aftermath.
